i believe there are 500 or so official members of the watchtower bible & tract society.

these are the ones who attend the annual meeting of the watchtower society.

they appear to be like company shareholders.. who are these individuals and why are they apparently anonymous?

But their role in a legal corporation might have suggested that they owed their positions on the Governing Body to their being elected by legal members of the Watch Tower Society. So basically the 500 voting members are mostly Headquarters and other Branch cronies, all with thoroughly vested interests in perpetuating the status quo and their positions. You can imagine the nepotism going on.

And I repeat my earlier question, slightly rephrased: who grants the right to be a voting member? What is the process?

or would they just go with what the gb says?.

here's why i say that.......it's like they are a couple, and god wants to break it off...but is having a really hard time doing so...... 1. garden of eden...satan starts trashing god, calls him a liar, and gets a couple to turn away from god....so this screw up (oh interferes with) gods big plan......and he doesn't zap satan?...he doesn't even punish satan?...he just curses snakes and takes their legs away??....fishy.

2. big meeting in heaven...in job i believe......and there is satan...still hangin with his homies.......no prob says god....just stay up here and corrupt a ton of my other angels...oh and go on down there and bitch slap job all you want...just don't kill him ok buddy?.

3. so thousands of years go by....satan is happily recruiting his demonz in heaven....and hey...since he is getting away with murder...why not kill gods own son?!?

Thanks, but if they are all approved by the GB and they hold no influence or power over the organisation, what purpose do they servce? What is their function?

How do they get to become voting members?

AllTime Jeff: do you mean the Charter of the Watchtower Corporation empowers the voting members to vote in the board members, or do you mean the GB vote in the "members"? Your statement is not clear. Can you clarify the relationship between the "Ecclesiastical Governing Body", the "Board" and the "Voting Members".

Deconstructing Apostasy - New Video

It's good, although there are no scriptures. If you focused more on the scriptural requirement for Christians to test religious teachings (eg, Rev: 2:2 or the noble-minded example of the Borieans) the clip would be more cogent.
